Cooking entails precise measurements, and incorrect proportions can affect your food - use this as a learning opportunity!
While cooking, have your child measure your ingredients; they will learn the practical applications of volumes and measurements.

Thanksgiving grocery list challenge! Involve your child next time you make your grocery list to help improve their monetary skills. Prepare your grocery list and have your child sum up the total cost of the items (they'll need some help from you with pricing.) At the grocery store, have them pay the cashier and see how close their total was to the actual total!
