Fleet 1 We enjoy regattas, twilight races, and other sailing events in Newport Harbor - sailing and racing with our family and friends. Come join the fun with us! Our mission is to promote family values, good camaraderie and team spirit while having fun sailing our Harbor 20s and socializing with members of our sailing association and other sailing friends.

SAVE THE DATE!!-Sent on behalf of event coorinator John Drayton.

Bill Menninger will be speaking to Harbor 20 Fleet 1 members on recommendations for preparing for the Fleet Chamionships at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 10 in the Crows Nest at NHYC. The focus of this talk will be how to best prepare your boat and crew for the upcoming races. All are welcome!

We are also looking for someone who can help videotape this discussion and Q&A.

As the b**r can races come to a close, there are two great sailing opportunities coming up. Tomorrow is Friday Frolics NHYC 2:00 pm meet in the five points area. Come to the club for lunch before and/or drinks and nibbles afterwards. BCYC tune up race Sunday 8/23/26. Please register at harbor20.org or NHYC or BCYC.

Harbor 20 Cruise Fleet #3 8/8/26. Over 10 Harbor 20's and 30 sailors enjoyed a beautiful windy day on the bay followed by drinks and nibbles on the Flag Deck @ beautiful Balboa Yacht Club. A big shout out to Cruise Chair Heidi Hall for organizing, Commodore Kari Bretschger for her support and coordination, to BYC for hosting us and to all the Harbor 20 sailors who came out to sail and support the group's activities. Hope to see everyone at the Heritage Regatta & Summer Party next Saturday, August 15th.

BCYC Taco Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, we celebrated Bob Yates 90th birthday! HBD 90 Bob!🎂🥳☺️🥂
I want to be 90 and taking first place honors in Harbor 20 "A" Fleet. Actually I'd just be happy to be still sailing! Bob is an accomplished sailor, businessman, photographer, and gives so much of his time as a mentor in many of Peter Haynes racing clinics. On Saturday, July 25th, 2026, eight Harbor 20's participated in the second annual Fleet 1 Newport Harbor Harbor 20 Cruise Fleet bay cruise. It was a beautiful summer sailing day with decent wind followed by yummy food and drinks at the beautiful Balboa Bay Club. If you missed the festivities, please sign up for the next Cruise Fleet event on Saturday, August 8th followed by drinks and lunch at the beautiful Balboa Yacht Club.
