Join us this Saturday, May 11th at 2pm or 4pm.

Dexter Music Recitals provide an opportunity to feel successful. Learning to play an instrument requires many, many hours of solo practice. Performing gives children the recognition they deserve for their hard-work.

Recitals also provide a chance for children to reflect upon where they’ve “come from” when watching beginning students and to see “where they’ll go” when watching more advanced students. There are few things more motivating to a student than watching their peers perform.

We encourage you to come out and watch. It is free to attend and support other families in our community!

As the New Year begins, many musicians set goals to improve their skills and become better at their craft. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, there are several ways you can work on your musicianship and take it to the next level. Here are some ways to help guide you!

1) Come up with a clear practice schedule - stay organized and consistent to really allow yourself to work at your skill

2) Understand what it is you want to focus on learning - wether its theory or a piece of music, knowing what area of learning you want to pursue will make practicing more effective

3) Try new things! - Expanding your musical horizons is a great way to get better. Expose yourself to knew artists, instruments, or kinds of music!
