A PRAYER FOR ESCAPE
Father God, I come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking You for wisdom, discernment, and self-control whenever I am being drawn into a situation that could steal my peace, provoke me, distract me, or pull me away from Your will.
Lord, You see what I cannot see. When something is being set before me that could become a trap, intervene early and show me the way of escape. Give me the spiritual awareness to recognize the door when You open it and the discipline to walk through it.
Remind me that I do not have to respond to every provocation, defend myself in every moment, correct every wrong statement, or participate in every argument. Teach me to recognize the warning signs before my emotions take control and remind me that this may be the moment You are providing my escape.
Father, I cannot control another person’s behavior, words, intentions, or choices, but through Your Holy Spirit, I can control how I respond. Guard my heart, mind, mouth, emotions, and peace. Give me wisdom to know when to speak, when to remain silent, when to stand, and when to walk away.
Your Word promises that with temptation You will provide a way of escape. Father, when You show me the door, open my eyes to recognize it and give me the strength to take it.
