This week, we’ve been exploring the exciting world of dinosaurs through hands-on research, creativity, and presentation. Each child selected a dinosaur of their choice, created an informational poster, and confidently shared what they learned with their classmates.

Moments like these remind us of the beauty of Montessori education and the power of mixed-age classrooms. When children are given the freedom to follow their interests and learn at their own pace, amazing things happen. Age becomes just a number as children grow in confidence, knowledge, and leadership.

At Blooming Faith Montessori, learning is purposeful, connected, and individualized to meet each child exactly where they are developmentally. We are so proud of all they have accomplished this week!

Today we dug a little deeper into the world of dinosaurs by exploring the rocks and minerals that help scientists uncover clues about life millions of years ago!

The children learned that fossils are often found in layers of rock and that rocks can tell us important stories about the Earth during the time dinosaurs roamed. Through hands-on exploration, they discovered how paleontologists carefully study fossils and rock formations to piece together the past.

We examined a variety of rocks and minerals, learned that minerals are found in many everyday items and even within our bodies, explored dinosaur fossils and bones, practiced careful observation skills, and used our imaginations to travel back to the prehistoric world. Through purposeful play and discovery, the children strengthened their science knowledge, expanded their vocabulary, developed fine motor skills, and engaged in critical thinking as they investigated evidence from long ago.

As we explored God’s amazing creation, we were reminded that every rock, fossil, and creature has a story to tell about the incredible world He designed.

Dinosaur Discovery – Day 1! 🦖

This week we’re continuing our exploration of reptiles by traveling back in time to learn about the most ancient reptiles of all—dinosaurs!

Today was filled with hands-on discovery, fine motor work, and purposeful play:

* 🥚 Fine Motor: Dino egg hatching (lychee fruit peeling)
* 🦴 Sensorial/Science: Stegosaurus bone excavation
* 🦖 Language: Dinosaur figurine-to-picture matching
* 🌋 Sensorial: Dinosaur habitat exploration sensory bin
* 🖐️ Art: Dinosaur stamping
* 🎨 Math/Color: Dino egg color and counting/number recognition
* 🪨 Language: Fossil figurine-to-picture matching
* 🦕 Practical Life: “Feed the dinosaur” scooping activity

The children were fully engaged as they strengthened fine motor skills, practiced early math and language concepts, and used their imagination to bring the prehistoric world to life.

This week we explored Egypt, learning about pyramids, deserts, and the living creatures that call them home, while also discovering the incredible story of Joseph. The children loved following along on Joseph’s journey from favored son, to slave, to a trusted advisor to Pharaoh, and learning how God was with Joseph through every season, working all things out for good. 🐪🌵✨

This week, our little explorers are continuing their journey through Africa as we discover the wonders of Egypt, learn about desert ecosystems, and meet some fascinating reptiles along the way! 🐪🐍🏜️🌵🦂

Through hands-on activities, sensory play, stories, art, practical life, and child-led discovery, we’ll be exploring:
• present-day Egypt & the pyramids
• Desert animals and habitats
• Reptiles and their unique characteristics
• New vocabulary, cultures, and geography
• The story of Joseph and how God used his journey from slavery to becoming Pharaoh’s chief advisor in Egypt ✨

We can’t wait for a week full of curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning together at Blooming Faith Montessori!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and our students enjoyed a special yoga and mindfulness station all week, focusing on caring for our minds, bodies, and hearts through mindfulness and movement. 💛🧘‍♀️

As part of our initiative to connect with and support other local small businesses in our community, we were so excited to welcome yoga instructor Ms. Mendy from True Balance Center for Breath and Bodywork for a fun mini yoga session with our mini yogis!

Yoga offers so many beautiful benefits for young children and all ages, including:
✨ Building body awareness and coordination
✨ Supporting emotional regulation and self-control
✨ Encouraging calmness, focus, and mindfulness
✨ Reducing stress and anxiety
✨ Promoting confidence, relaxation, and overall well-being

Through breathing exercises, stretching, movement, and mindfulness, children learn healthy ways to process emotions, manage big feelings, and connect with their bodies in a positive way.

We love giving our students opportunities to slow down, breathe deeply, and grow not only academically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. 🌿💚
