Fun Friday with our first community helper visitor! Mr. Blake taught us all about his area of construction and electrical work as someone who builds and maintains traffic signals. 🚦 He shared the importance of safety as he uses heavy machinery such as excavators and working up to 40ft in the air over busy roads.

Traffic signals are something we see and use every day, but may not realize the hardworking people behind the scenes who are ensuring traffic flows safely for commuters and pedestrians. This work involves long hours in the Georgia heat, over nights, during emergencies and after severe weather events.

Thank you Mr. Blake for helping our community stay safe and for letting our little learners experience a real traffic signal up close! ❤️

In the beginning of the school year, one of the ways we get to know each family is through food! Coming together for a meal is a sacred and special time for families. Whether it’s a Friday night pizza tradition, simply cooking a favorite meal or a treasured recipe being passed down through generations, food is something that can bring everyone together! We’ve enjoyed pizza, spaghetti and sliders these first few weeks! Looking forward to more family recipes to share and cherish together. ❤️

Our morning work cycle is filled with little hands doing BIG work! 🙌

From food preparation, learning to use real tools, practicing dressing skills, maintaining and caring for the classroom environment, using real hands-on materials for math, language and culture studies and one of my favorites introducing presentation skills! Everyday we are building compassionate, independent, and confident problem solvers.

At Blooming Faith Montessori we don’t put limits on what young leaners can do or accomplish. We are not confined to the schedule or limitations of a commercialized curriculum. We follow the child, pay attention to when they need to be challenged and when they need extra support. We step back, observe, and follow their lead by adapting methods and materials to support their unique developmental pace…all while partnering closely with families and our community!

Schedule a tour and experience the Blooming Faith difference for yourself! 🤍

Today we remember and celebrate Dr. Maria Montessori on her birthday and the influence she has had on early childhood development and education.

⛪️The Catholic Roots of Montessori Education 🕊️

Most people know the Montessori method as a highly successful, secular approach to early childhood education. But did you know its architectural blueprint was actually the Sacred Liturgy of the Catholic Church?

Dr. Maria Montessori was a devout Catholic whose faith was deeply woven into her scientific work. Today, on her birthday, we look at how her faith shaped the classroom environment, materials, and methods used globally today:

💟The Classroom as a Sanctuary: Dr. Montessori designed the famous "prepared environment" with the same order, simplicity, and beauty she found in a Catholic church altar. Just as the altar and sanctuary are prepared with precise care to facilitate worship, her classroom environment was meticulously prepared to facilitate the child's natural work.

💟Practical Life as Ritual: Daily tasks like polishing silver, pouring water, and arranging flowers were modeled on the precise, reverent movements of a priest and altar servers preparing for Mass. By mastering these tasks, children mirrorer the exact physical care, grace and deep concentration used to handle sacred vessels.

💟The Teacher's role as a Servant: She completely reshaped the modern role of the educator around Christian humility—training teachers to step back, observe quietly, and serve the child as a divine creation.

💟The "Silence Game" as Prayer: Dr. Montessori introduced the "Silence Game," where children practiced making their bodies completely still and quiet until they could hear the most quiet of background noises. This exercise wasn't a disciplinary trick; but was rooted in Catholic contemplative prayer, teaching children to develop the internal quietness necessary to hear the "still, small voice" of God.

💟Cosmic Education & Creation: The elementary science curriculum (The Great Lessons) was designed to show children how every particle, rock, and living creature obeys natural laws. She believed that when children interact with these materials such as color tablets, binomial cubes, geometric solids, they are systematically uncovering the hidden, geometric order of creation and a way to marvel at God's intelligent design of the universe.

💟Honoring Free Will: Rooted in the Catholic theological understanding of free will, Dr. Montessori allowed children freedom of choice within boundaries. Rather than forcing a child to learn a specific lesson at a specific time, she allowed them to choose their own work, believing that true morality and self-discipline could only grow if a child was free to practice making good choices on their own.

While the method was successfully adapted into a secular format for public and private schools worldwide, its soul remains deeply spiritual. Dr. Montessori proved that true education doesn't just build the mind—it serves the human spirit.

📖 Want to read her own primary writings on this? Check out her books: "The Mass Explained to Children" (1933) and "The Child in the Church" (1929).

Our Georgia learning week wouldn’t be complete without discussing one of the most influential leaders and Georgia native Martin Luther King Jr.

We read two MLK books and discussed how every person was created unique and in the image of God. No matter what someone looks like we treat all people with kindness, love and respect. We finished our lesson with a fun hands on actively of melting down different colored crayons to create beautifully unique heart shaped crayons to go with MLK’s words: “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” ❤️

This iconic quote was inspired by Jesus’s teachings: “love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.” -Luke 6:27-28

P is for peach and prayer!🙏 🍑

This week we’ve been exploring all things Georgia- which must include Georgia peaches! Today our little learners came together to bake peach cobbler muffins! 🧡

Baking lessons are so much more than enjoying a tasty treat. There are so many skills being practiced and refined from language development, math, hand eye coordination, fine motor ability, social skills, patience, multi-step directions and as always confidence and independence!

✨Book Highlight✨
Any Time, Any Place, Any Prayer We Can Talk with God by Laura Wifler is a wonderful book that teaches littles what praying is and that it doesn’t matter when or where or with who, God is always with us, eager to listen and connect with us. Our memory verse this week goes along beautifully: “Call to me and I will answer you.” -Jeremiah 33:3

We’ve had some sweet group prayers for pregnant mamas to feel better, new baby siblings to arrive safely and prayers of thankfulness for our families.

These kiddos are definitely as sweet as a Georgia peach!🍑 🧡
