One of the things I’m most proud of: In 2012 I wrote a blog post about how families with autistic kids can get handicap parking permits.
That post has helped thousands of families over the past 13 years. Families who had no idea this was even an option.
The king is 22 now. We still use ours. And I’ve revised the blog post for 2025 with updated links to all the state forms.
If your kid bolts, elopes, or has severe safety issues - you might qualify. Ask your doctor.
It’s one of the only “perks” of severe autism. Take it.
