We have so much to celebrate and look forward to as we wrap up an incredible spring season. Check out all the amazing things happening in Newfield:

🏃‍♂️ Track & Field State Qualifiers
Congratulations to our 10 student-athletes who competed at State Qualifiers last week in Union Endicott! It was two exciting nights of competition, and our athletes represented Newfield wonderfully. We are so proud of you—congratulations on a great season! 🏃‍♂️

📚 Scholar-Athlete Team Awards
A massive shoutout to our Baseball Team and our Girls Outdoor Track and Field Team! Both squads earned the NYSPHSAA Spring 2026 Scholar-Athlete Team Award, meaning 75% or more of their team members maintained a 90% or above average! Excellence in the classroom and on the field! 🧾

🏆 ESPN Ithaca Night of Champions
This Sunday evening, ESPN Ithaca will host their 13th Annual Night of Champions awards, and Newfield is bringing home some major honors:
Maddie White – Indoor Track Female Athlete of the Year (coming off her State Championship!) 👟
Coach Ricky Stewart – Boys Outdoor Track Coach of the Year 👟
Congratulations to you both! I look forward to celebrating with you Sunday evening.

Attention all Newfield Trojans! It’s time to get ready for the Fall 2026 athletic season. If you are a current 6th–11th grader (entering 7th–12th grade in the fall), sign-ups are officially open!

Whether you want to hit the gridiron, dominate the soccer field, spike it on the court, lead the crowd, or hit the trails—we have a spot for you.

State Qualifiers are this Wednesday and Thursday at Union Endicott High School beginning at 5:00 p.m. We have 10 exceptional student-athletes attending:

🟢⚪️ WOW! The Mod Squad completely dominated the awards podium at the Marathon Junior High Invite! ⚪️🟢

As their coach, I couldn't be prouder of how we wrapped up the season tonight. These girls gave 110% effort and smashed some personal bests along the way! 🏃‍♀️💨

Because awards were based on age groups, the 7th and 8th grades were scored separately. For the Girls 7th grade bracket, this small but mighty squad took home SECOND PLACE as a team, missing the top spot by a mere 3 points to Dryden! 🥈✨ Huge congratulations to the girls on an amazing season!

Let’s give a massive congratulations to our Track and Field Team on an incredible season! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💨
🏆 The Boys Team won the IAC South Small School Division and took home the IAC Small School Championship title last week in Trumansburg!
🥈 The Girls Team finished an amazing second in the IAC South Small School Division!
🚨 RECORD BREAKER: During the IAC Championships, Senior Malcolm Jenkins broke an 11-year-old school record in the Triple Jump! Way to go, Malcolm!

Next Up: The teams are heading to the Class D Sectional Championships in Marathon this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. GO TROJANS! ⚠️ TRAVEL ADVISORY: If you are traveling to Marathon today for Modified Track or tomorrow for Sectionals, please allow 20–30 extra minutes due to massive road construction and detours from Dryden to Marathon! 🚧🚙

⚾ Varsity Baseball Update: The Varsity Baseball team returned to Sectional play for the first time in two seasons! Though they lost a hard-fought battle to Marathon, the future looks incredibly bright for this program. Proud of you, boys! 🙌

We are thrilled to announce some major individual honors for our Trojans:

🏆 HISTORIC MOMENT FOR NEWFIELD TRACK & FIELD! 🏆

Over the course of two long days of fierce competition at Trumansburg during the IAC Championships, our Trojans made history! For the first time EVER, our boys team earned the title of Small School IAC League Champions! 🥇🏃‍♂️💨

But the greatness doesn't stop there. Back on May 8th, the boys also snagged 1st place in our division, while our incredible girls team earned a very respectable 2nd-place finish! 🥈💪

💥 RECORD BROKEN! 💥
A massive special congratulations goes out to senior Malcolm Jenkins, who shattered an 11-year-old school record in the triple jump with an unbelievable leap of 42’ 4.25”! 🐾✈️🔥

👟 What's Next? 👟
The postseason push is just getting started.
📍 Next up: Sectionals at Marathon
📍 Followed by: State Qualifiers at Union-Endicott

From there, the journey continues toward States and Nationals! 🚀
