Dear Newcastle Families,
Thank you for a fantastic start to the school year! As we settle into our daily routines, we need your help with a few important guidelines to keep our campus safe, healthy, and running smoothly.
1. Morning Drinks & Breakfast
Please do not send students to school with outside beverages like coffee, sodas, or fast-food drinks. If your student needs breakfast or a morning drink, our cafeteria opens early every day and is ready to serve them. Inside classrooms, students may only have water in their water bottles.
2. Dismissal & Traffic Safety
Keeping traffic moving safely and efficiently is a top priority. Please review these rules:
Walkers: The "Walker" designation is strictly for neighborhood students walking all the way home on foot.
Car Riders: If you drive to school to pick up your student, you must use the car line. Parking and walking up to the building disrupts our safety system and creates traffic hazards. Establishing consistent habits now ensures dismissal stays smooth—especially when cold or rainy weather arrives later this year.
3. 5th Grade Pickup Location & Traffic Flow
To keep our bus lanes clear and avoid traffic backups, we ask all parents picking up 5th-grade students to enter from Veteran's Parkway and cross the street.
We are so grateful for your patience, help, and grace as our staff learns every student's name and after-school transportation routine. Thank you for partnering with us!
Sincerely,
Ashley Riley, Principal
