As our community continues to grow, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our facilities so that our students have the resources they need to grow and refine their skills.

We want to share a quick update with our Racer community following an incident this morning in the Newcastle High School parking lot involving two students and a vehicle accident.

We are grateful to report that both students are okay and no injuries have been reported. Law enforcement responded to the scene and the incident remains under investigation. The families of the students involved have been notified.

We know that even a minor accident involving our students can be concerning for families and members of our school community. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students is always our top priority and we are thankful that both students are okay.

Because this involves students, we will respect their privacy and will not share additional identifying information.

We appreciate our students, families and staff for their cooperation and understanding as the investigation continues.

Our district was affected by a city-wide power outage and as a result, systems are still down. If you are picking up a student from Newcastle Elementary School or Newcastle Early Childhood Center, we ask that you please be patient with our staff and they work to keep dismissal running as smoothly and safely as possible.

Newcastle’s aviation program is growing, and students are already gaining real-world experience in the field. Last year, our program placed 4th out of 66 schools at the 2026 High School Aviation Championship and one of our students reached an exciting milestone by completing their first solo flight.

The proposed bond includes a new aviation classroom featuring a real aircraft, which will provide a dedicated space for hands-on, career-focused aviation education and help prepare our students for their future.

We hope you will continue to learn about the proposal, review the projects and make an informed decision on August 25.

A few of our school board members and district administrators had the opportunity to attend the Oklahoma State School Boards Association Education Leadership Conference today, where they were able to network with education leaders from around the state and learn about the latest strategies and tools to help serve our schools in the best way possible.
