LONG POST- WORTH YOUR TIME
Posting this so our friends that train or are interested in training can review. This particular officer involved shooting happened on July 2 at the Los Robles Hospital. The attacker was being guarded for domestic violence and took a glass vile and shattered it open to turn it into a knife, started cutting himself, and then came after the guarding officer to cut her.
Watch the officer move, get her distance and then eventually fire one shot- which went to his hip. She then holstered her fi***rm.
She did an excellent job, keeping her head – getting distance and subduing a very violent attacker.

Most of you that train will easily recognize this – but where you will be seriously entertained is in the comment section.

The number of people in there are many with such comments as “why couldn’t they just have subdued him instead of shooting” (yes ma’am, the officer should let the gentleman who has a homemade knife get close and keep slicing the officer while said officer attempts to put a needle in his arm)……… or the ever popular “cops are s**t. They have pepper spray and tasers and batons. Why didn’t she use one of those?” (yes sir I am sure the officer would love to let that gentleman get exceptionally close so that she could then use a short baton or risk missing with pepper stray or the taser not working and then the result- various bodily injury or death to the officer and the people around her).

You’ll see as you scroll there are so many uneducated and just plain exceptionally stupid comments that you’ll be doing an eye roll within 30 seconds.

Now, of course, we can chat about people never having faced violence, and I can absolutely understand that but I think more importantly we can say number one reasonable common sense deduction is a lost art, and number two a general hatred of any type of officers clouds people’s judgment. It is my wish that any of those people with these comments would go to one of the simulation trainings where they are attacked, and the person in the simulation chooses how to respond . In all of them I have seen the responding person in the training chose to shoot and their eyes were wide open from that point forward as to what officers deal with.

What a fab graduation night!!! We had one of our youngest members taking their first belt test – amazing colored belt testing candidates, and two testing candidates graduating with their black belts!!! They are among friends that support them(if you were there that night, you know the power that we spoke about and the Japanese translation of “among“).
