Bob said it all! Ignorance is the basis for most criticism, and ignorance is defined as uneducated or unknowing of a particular subject. Don't be ignorant educate yourself.

It’s easy to judge if you’ve never tried.

Our detractors have never done what you see in these pictures.

They haven’t. Period. Many may say they have… but they totally have not.

How do we know? Because the only way to achieve this kind of rehab is to follow the constants of the horse’s hoof:

✅ the hard sole plane (HSP)

✅ allowing a toe to grow down and remain in contact with the ground (so what if it is ugly, get over it)

✅ the natural pillars of support (not the 10-2 nonsense you hear about)

✅ properly balanced heels (not rockered or unbalanced)

✅ correct dorsopalmar balance (which is hard when you are correcting a chopped off toe)

Instead our detractors do the opposite, they remove toes, remove walls, leave heels too high, leave bars, misinterpret hoof rings, make up nonsense about the DDFT, say that the stretched toe must hurt the equine, or cause tripping... honestly it's just word salad.

We don't want horses to look like this, but largely the reason they do, is because we are correcting YOUR mistakes.

Have you ever seen osteonecrosis of P3?

And why did that start? Because you numpties chopped off the toes and left the heels high.

Pack it in. Stop using up all your energy fighting us, calling us out, posting derogatory comments on social media, and making webinars - just stop.

The only professional worth sitting down with to discuss what is going on in this post, is someone who understands what causes osteonecrosis, and someone wanting to find a safer, kinder, faster way of rehabbing laminitics.

Everyone else, jog on.

Or... just do one thing. Trim like you see in this post.

Then come back to us.

HM.

p.s. if your horse is having their toes chopped off and your hoof care pro says it's fine... don't believe them, get x-rays... and join our free rehab group and take back control - The Phoenix Way: Path 2 Hoof Health

Understanding that all life is interconnected…

02/20/2024

When dealing with a dysfunction, you must also understand the onset of compensatory issues. To eliminate the compensation, you must recognize the reason or purpose of a body compensating structurally. This can only understood by recognizing the imbalance or dysfunction. Hoof and Body students are taught to recognize imbalances or dysfunction using proper assessment techniques. Then and only then can you become truly efficient at rectifying the problem.
The initial focus of your education is to learn assessment techniques of what we call “Whole Horse Balance.” Whole Horse assessment includes evaluating oral (teeth), hooves, and body. With this primary education, you will have the formula to apply the necessary change to eliminate dysfunction and eliminate the compensations in the body. What we are referring to is True Whole Horse Balance.
We do not teach Dentistry, but we share our knowledge of proper dental occlusion. We teach how to restore proper balance to the hooves and the musculoskeletal system.

At Hoof and Body, our mindset is that we do things for the horse, not to the horse. When you approach the horse with this attitude, the relationship is mutual, and the results speak for themselves. May the Horse be with You, and You with the Horse.

It is always great to see when the horse world starts putting the pieces of the puzzle together. The puzzle, in this case, is proper whole-horse balance. The three components are Hoof, Body, and Dental.

Researchers found a strong association between hind hoof balance and posture that could affect overall musculoskeletal health.

Education is a powerful tool.

You may wonder why we pull back into the syringe when giving injections in the vein. This picture explains why. We don't pull back to make sure we're in the vessel, we do it to make sure we're in the RIGHT vessel. Today I went to give an injection and pulled back and saw blood brighter than I wanted. I decided to go and get a new dose of sedation and once again pulled back and then gave my dose of sedation. The syringe on the left was my first injection and the syringe on the right was my second injection. Does anyone know why I shouldn't have injected that first syringe? And had I injected that first injection, what would have happened?

Happy New Year!
It’s been a while since our last post, almost seven months. As many of you may or may not know, Dino is recovering from his fifth knee surgery in a year. We were not sure about the future of The Hoof and Body School. But he is making a tremendous but slow recovery, and we have just posted our 2024 class schedule on our website, hoofandbody.com.
Dino and I are looking forward to an exciting new school year!

Ever since our first post-Dino and I have not wavered from our message. And that message is all about the balanced Horse and it’s simple- complexity. I don’t expect everyone to embrace our message, I realize we are running a for-profit school, and it could just be our sales pitch.
But it would benefit both you and your Horse if you listened to the testimonies from our students and the reviews from horse owners who have experienced it firsthand at one of our clinics.
May your balanced Horse be with you.
