Art in Action: Creativity Takes Center Stage at Friday Night Lights Remix!

On Friday, August 14th, high school students flexed their creative muscles at Friday Night Lights Remix: Doodles & Drips Art Workshop, presented by local artist Rob Mounier.

This FUN and CREATIVE art experience introduced students to the fundamentals of street art through illustration, graffiti-inspired techniques, bold design, and personal expression. Led by professional artist Rob Mounier, students explored these elements while experimenting with different techniques to create original, expressive works of art that were uniquely their own!

School Bus Routes are Available! (Reminder)

⚠️Reminder! The Transportation Department has relocated to our Chestnut Street building, located at 20 Chestnut Street in Newburgh.

Transportation information is now available! This information is always posted on the district website on the right-hand side of the page for general reference.

🚌School Bus Routes
Please be reminded that school bus transportation will be running off schedule in most cases for the first few weeks of school. Thank you for your patience as our students, families, school bus drivers, and school staff settle into the new routine.

⚠️Have an issue?
Please utilize this form if you have an issue with your child's transportation. Issues will be addressed in the order in which they're received. The transportation department and the bus companies are handling many phone calls and updating bus information as quickly as possible. Utilizing the form to streamline information will assist in more efficient and quicker updates.

✅Check back Frequently
Please continue to check the transportation schedule each night, as adjustments will be made regularly as we adjust to a new school year. The transportation schedule will be slightly delayed during the first few weeks of the new school year as students, families, and drivers become familiar with new bus routes and routines.

‼️Reminders for young riders
As a reminder, all students in grades PreK-2 and students receiving special transportation must be met at their bus stop by a responsible person to be released. Pre-K students who are 3 years old cannot ride the school bus until their 4th birthday.

📦Have you moved?
Have you moved? Updated your email? Changed your phone number? Be sure to update your information as soon as possible. If so, change your information by using the forms above, so your child's bus stop is accurate!

Newburgh Free Academy Celebrates More than 70 August Graduates

Newburgh Free Academy celebrated more than 70 August graduates, recognizing their determination and persistence to earn their high school diploma. The atmosphere was filled with pride and excitement as family, friends, and educators gathered to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our summer high school graduates. Marching across Academy Field represents far more than the completion of course requirements—it is a testament to the perseverance, late nights, and focus these students invested in reaching their goals.

Amarri Monroe, surprise guest speaker, echoed the shared sentiments of the day, recognizing that individuals are not defined by the challenges that they face, but how they overcome and persevere to reach their goals. Monroe is a member of NFA's class of 2021, graduated from Quinnipiac University as a double major in Finance and Communications, and will be attending Syracuse University this fall to earn his MBA. Monroe has played Division I basketball since graduating from Newburgh Free Academy where he won MAAC Player of the Year during his junior season and earned All-MAAC First Team honors in 2025–26 while averaging 15.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while playing for Quinnipiac University. Monroe was drafted from the transfer portal and committed to Syracuse University following an extra year of eligibility granted via a legal ruling.

"As graduates, you officially become leaders beyond Academy Field. You will represent Newburgh Free Academy and your fellow classmates in the jobs you take and in the decisions you make. You will always be a part of our Goldback Nation and I hope you consistently choose to maintain our Goldback Standard wherever you go. Although you are leaving our high school hallways behind, your teachers, administrators, school counselors, and so many others are still here to support you. You know how to find us. We hope you come back when you need help and remember to share your successes, so we can celebrate along with you, like we are doing here today!" Superintendent, Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell
