On June 3rd, FoodTEC and SUNY Orange supported our community based partner Newburgh Urban Farm and Food Inc. (NUFFI) to present the findings of the Newburgh Food Project’s study on the City of Newburgh’s food system. Held at the Newburgh Activity Center, the event attracted over 150 community members.

The report highlighted community input from over 400 Newburgh residents, who identified top priorities including affordable quality food, reliable transportation to food sources, and resources for growing and preparing food.

Orange County FoodTEC would like to give a big thank you to our Advisory Council and Industry Partners for making our programs a success!

We know that our success relies on developing tailored workforce programs for the food, beverage, and hospitality industries.

Over the past two years, with support from the Advisory Council and internship partners, we launched three training programs in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, and Food Safety. As a result, we have issued 227 industry-recognized credentials, and 49 students completed a 15-week workforce development program and gained hands-on experience while earning a wage.
