🐊 Swamp Spotlight 🐊

Mrs. Harrelson’s 4th grade enrichment students have been completely immersed in Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick! The story follows Ben and Rose, two children living decades apart, whose journeys eventually connect in an unexpected way.

After finishing the novel, students chose a memorable scene to recreate as a diorama and wrote a museum-style blurb explaining their work. They then participated in a silent gallery walk, carefully viewing and judging their classmates’ creations based on creativity, detail, and connection to the novel.

The Wow Factor Award – 3rd Place: Aubree Forbis

Our teachers and staff also joined in on the fun by walking through our Wonderstruck gallery and voting for their favorite dioramas!

📚✨ Mystery Readers in Mrs. Moore’s First Grade Class! ✨📚

Mrs. Moore is so excited to invite her former students, who are now fifth graders, to come back and read to her first grade class! It has been so special to see these students return to their old classroom as confident readers and wonderful role models.

Last week, Amelia White read Llama Llama Red Pajama, and MiKal Cheek read Green Eggs and Ham. They both did an incredible job! Their confidence, enthusiasm, and kindness made such a positive impression on the first graders. 💚📖

The students are already excited to see who will be the Mystery Reader this week! Mrs. Moore loves watching her former students inspire her current students through the joy of reading! 🐊📚💚

Our Pre-K Gators have been learning all about pumpkins! From exploring how pumpkins grow to learning about their characteristics, our students have been busy discovering all things pumpkin.

To bring their learning to life, our Pre-K classes took a field trip to Lever Farms Pumpkin Patch! 🎃🐊 They had a wonderful time exploring, learning, and enjoying a little fall fun together.

We love when learning takes us beyond the classroom! 💚💙

October is the perfect time to celebrate the leader who helps our Gators learn, grow, and succeed each day!

We are so thankful for Mr. Godfrey and the leadership, encouragement, and school spirit he brings to Gallman Elementary. From supporting our staff to cheering on our students, he is always ready to jump in and be part of the action—including a little fun with our favorite Gator! 🐊
