Newberry Elementary School Through Rocket Pride, Newberry Elementary Rockets learn, lead, and take action to make a positive impact every day!

Newberry Elementary School serves the area of Newberry, SC. We have 445 students currently enrolled. Motto: We will accept nothing less than the best at NES! Vision: The vision of Newberry Elementary School is to provide an academically, socially and culturally diverse learning environment. Mission: To partner with our families, community and school and personally empower students to become successful, lifelong learners. Beliefs - we believe:

Building classroom community fosters a desire for learning. Every individual must be given the opportunity to reach his/her full potential. Learning is the shared responsibility of the individual, school, family and community. Intense instruction is optimal for student learning. Engaged students equal academic success. Family involvement is vital to the development of each individual. Students must have a nurturing and safe environment in which to work and learn. We are a 21st Century School and through our instruction are developing the following 21st Century Skills for Global Citizens among our students: Accountability, Adaptability, Creativity, Integrity, Problem-solving, Productivity, Resiliency, Reflective Listening, Self-direction and Self-discipline.

🚀 What an AMAZING Week at The Rocket! 🚀

This week was filled with celebration, learning, laughter, and making new friends! ❤️

From celebrating our students’ academic growth 📚🎉 to reminding everyone to lace up those tennis shoes for PE 👟, we found joy in every moment! We kicked off this morning with fun wigs and BIG smiles to brighten our Rockets’ day and welcomed the Newberry College Women’s Basketball Team as Lunch Buddies, creating special memories and meaningful connections! 🏀❤️

At NES, it’s about more than academics. It’s about building relationships, celebrating successes, creating memories, and making every Rocket feel special!

What an incredible week! We are truly grateful and honored to serve our Rockets each and every day! 🚀❤️

🚀🌟 TO 45 AND BEYOND! 🌟🚀

Newberry Elementary School Rockets are BLASTING OFF TO SUCCESS! Our school earned an overall report card score of 45—an increase of 8 points—and an Average rating!

Behind that progress are students who keep learning and growing, educators committed to high-quality instruction, and families who support our Rockets every day. This is a milestone we celebrate together!

We saw gains in English Language Arts, Math, Preparing for Success, Student Progress, and School Climate. We’re especially proud that students feel safe in our building and that our staff recognize instruction as a top priority.

Our journey continues. We are celebrating our progress while strengthening support in areas where students need more help. Over the coming months, we’ll spotlight the learning, instruction, and partnerships behind our results—and share how we’re helping every Rocket reach higher.
