Congratulations to our AC Flora girls golf team on winning the Region Championship today.

Congratulations to Coach Marvin Robinson & his staff on doing such an outstanding job leading the team in their first season.

Congratulations to sophomore Kathleen Robinson on winning medalist honors today. “The Machine” was named the Region Player of the Year.

Next up will be Upper State & the girls season will conclude at the 4A State Championship. Postseason is always a three part process.

One down & two to go.

All 19 team members share in this victory. It’s a total team effort.

Historically speaking our girls team have always played some of their best golf when wearing black. By all means keep that going next week. Looking good ladies!

Go Falcons!

In 1903, a golfer at a New Jersey country club invented a word that every golfer on earth now uses without a second thought. 🐦

At Atlantic City Country Club, a golfer named Ab Smith hit his second shot on a par four to within inches of the cup and called it a "bird of a shot," using slang of the era where "bird" meant something excellent. His group started calling any hole finished one under par a birdie as a running joke, and the term spread from that single foursome to golfers everywhere. Once "birdie" caught on internationally, golfers extended the same bird theme further, coining "eagle" for two under and eventually "albatross" for the rare three-under score. ⛳

A slang joke among friends on one ordinary afternoon in New Jersey somehow became permanent scoring vocabulary in nearly every language golf is played in today. What's a piece of everyday slang you use constantly that actually started as somebody's inside joke?

Congratulations Zach along with the other winners & nice playing Thomas “Lammy” Lamar.

It all we had eight former Falcons competing. That’s great stuff. Hopefully we can get even more of our guys out next year including our current Falcons.

Go Falcons!
