Today, our students are taking time to remember September 11, 2001 through a variety of age-appropriate activities, including moments of silence or lessons to honor the lives lost and the many individuals whose lives were forever changed.

DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL LEARNING!

Friday, September 4, was a day of learning, collaboration, and connection across the School District of Newberry County!

Teachers participated in professional learning sessions at Gallman Elementary School, Mid-Carolina High School, Newberry Middle School, Reuben Elementary School, and the District Office. The morning began with a variety of teacher-selected breakout sessions, followed by opportunities to collaborate in grade-level, content-specific, and specialized groups.

In the afternoon, our District Leads participated in a Science and Art of Teaching session led by S.C. Department of Education trainer Brittany Daniels. Other teachers returned to their schools for dedicated time to plan, collaborate, and prepare for the weeks ahead.

And because it was College Colors Day, many of our teachers and staff showed their school spirit by representing their favorite colleges and universities!

Thank you to everyone who presented, facilitated, collaborated, and helped make the day meaningful for our educators. When our teachers continue to learn and grow, our students benefit!
