🔍 WHAT IS IT?

We’re putting your art detective skills to the test!

We’ve taken a close-up photo of a piece of artwork currently on display at the Newberry Arts Center. Can you figure out what you’re looking at?

Take a look at the close-up photo and see if you can figure out where that detail appears in the artwork. It’s a simple challenge, but you might be surprised by how different a familiar piece can look when you zoom way in!

Once you’ve made your guess, come visit the Newberry Arts Center and see if you can find this artwork on display in person. Take a walk through the center, enjoy the art, and see how many pieces you recognize along the way!

🌿✨ Happy National Relaxation Day! ✨🌿

Today is your gentle reminder to slow down, take a deep breath, and make a little room for stillness.

Sometimes relaxation looks like a quiet cup of coffee. Sometimes it’s getting lost in a painting, feeling the rhythm of a sewing machine, shaping clay between your hands, or simply letting your mind wander without a destination. 🎨🧵🖌️

At the Newberry Arts Center, we believe creativity can be its own kind of exhale. When we make something with our hands, we give our minds permission to pause, play, and be present.

So today, take a moment to breathe deeply, make something beautiful, and remember—you don’t always have to be productive. Sometimes, you just need to create, relax, and be. 💛
