ParentSquare, ParentVUE & FirstView: What’s the Difference?

We know the names can be confusing, so here’s a quick guide to the three tools families use throughout the school year.

ParentSquare
Our new primary communication tool. Use ParentSquare to receive important school and district updates through app notifications, email, and text messages. ParentSquare will also be used for emergency text alerts, so we strongly encourage all families to activate their accounts and make sure their contact information is up to date.

ParentVUE
Your go-to for student information, including grades, attendance, and other academic records.

FirstView
Your resource for tracking your student’s school bus and transportation information.

Three tools, three purposes. We’ll help you keep them straight!

Meet Bryant Quinn

As the K-5 PE teacher at Dundee Elementary, Bryant Quinn believes physical education is about much more than sports and exercise. It is an opportunity to help students build confidence, resilience, and character that will serve them throughout their lives.

With nine years in education, Quinn says what he values most about Dundee Elementary is the support he receives both professionally and personally.

“I love the trust I am given as a professional, and the support I am given as a human teaching other humans,” he shared.

His personal mission is to develop grit and encourage young people to use their gifts to serve others. He says Dundee Elementary and Newberg-Dundee Public Schools provide an environment where that mission can thrive.

What makes Dundee special, Quinn explains, is the school's commitment to developing the whole child.

“At Dundee, we operate on the idea that character drives process drives results,” he said.
Through character education rooted in John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, students are recognized not only for their own growth, but also for the ways they help others grow. The goal is to create a community where every student feels valued and supported as they become the best version of themselves.

One quality that stands out among both students and staff is curiosity.

“Students demonstrate incredible curiosity in their unique and thoughtful questions,” Quinn said. “Staff show curiosity over judgment by asking about each other's intentions.”

That culture of trust and growth is visible throughout the school and extends beyond the classroom.

One of the highlights of every year is the districtwide 5th Grade Track Meet. The event brings together elementary PE teachers, community volunteers, middle school students, and high school athletes to create an unforgettable experience for students. For many participants, it is their first introduction to track and field.

“It is infinitely rewarding to see students work hard and find success in something new,” he said.

The event is also a powerful reminder of what makes the Newberg-Dundee community special: people coming together to support students and help them discover what they are capable of achieving.

Meet Lili Argento

Lili has 13 years of experience teaching middle and high school and currently teaches Dual Language Spanish Language Arts at Mountain View Middle School.

She values the strong sense of community and collaboration among staff, and she loves being part of a program where students grow in both bilingualism and socio-cultural understanding. She describes Mountain View as a school family where students and staff feel supported, seen, and committed to academic growth.

Lili is especially proud of the way staff work together to ensure no student falls through the cracks, along with the strength of the Dual Language Program. She sees students growing not only in Spanish fluency and literacy, but also in English, reinforcing the power of bilingual learning.

One of her favorite moments this year was Dual Language Night, where more than 150 families attended. Students led the event by creating presentations and posters based on classroom learning, including grammar, literature, vocabulary, research, and cultural studies. She shared how powerful it was to see students step into leadership and proudly share their learning with their families.

Newberg-Dundee Public Schools Names Jessica Renhard as Principal of Mountain View Middle School
Newberg-Dundee Public Schools is pleased to welcome Jessica Renhard as the new Principal of Mountain View Middle School, effective for the 2026–2027 school year.
Renhard joins Newberg-Dundee Public Schools with more than 15 years of educational experience, including leadership roles focused on instructional excellence, student achievement, school culture, and systems of support. She currently serves as Associate Principal at Tigard High School, where she leads schoolwide efforts in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), attendance, student behavior, professional learning, teacher supervision and evaluation, and school improvement planning.
Prior to her current role, Renhard served as Dean of Students at Tualatin High School, where she helped strengthen student support systems, developed restorative behavior processes, and led initiatives focused on student engagement and success. Her career also includes ten years as a middle and high school mathematics teacher, department coordinator, and instructional leader, giving her a deep understanding of both classroom instruction and educational leadership.
"Jessica is an outstanding educator whose leadership is grounded in relationships, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to students," said Superintendent Dave Parker. "Throughout her career, she has demonstrated the ability to build strong teams, support high-quality instruction, and create systems that help every student thrive. We are excited to welcome Jessica to Newberg-Dundee Public Schools and know she will be an exceptional leader for the Mountain View Middle School community."
Renhard and her family have proudly called Newberg home for the past 11 years. She has been married to her husband for 18 years and they have two children attending school in our district. In her free time, Jessica enjoys cheering on her kids in their many activities, spending time outdoors, reading, attending sporting events, or escaping to a sunny beach (especially if it includes the opportunity to scuba dive).
Renhard expressed her enthusiasm for joining the district and partnering with students, staff, and families.
"I believe we have a truly exciting opportunity to build on the great work already happening at Mountain View Middle School. I am honored and excited to serve a community that has invested so much in my own children and look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to continue growing together."
Renhard's experience leading instructional improvement, implementing student support systems, and fostering positive school culture aligns closely with the district's commitment to ensuring every student is known, valued, and prepared for future success.
