To the Rutgers University – Newark Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you all that Encore is no longer an organization on campus, due to low membership. As such, we regret to inform anyone who graduated in 2018, 2019, or in future years that for the time being, there will be no future yearbooks. Thank you to all who have supported us, to the faculty and staff who have guided us, Encore Alumni who have stopped by and encouraged us, and to our former staff who did their very best to keep 80+ years of Encore going. It has been an amazing journey and we thank you all for allowing us to preserve the history and memories of the student body. We will keep this page alive for those of you to look back on all of the fun times had, but this page will not be monitored any longer.

In the event that a new group of students can come together and preserve this amazing organization, please feel free to message this page, we would be happy to pass along this page and any advice or help former staff can provide.

For those who graduated in 2016 and 2017, a joint yearbook was finally finished and published recently. We know there will be many questions, so please see below:

*** Is the 2016/2017 yearbook free? ***
Yes.

*** Is it two separate yearbooks? ***
No. 2016 and 2017 was joined together and includes both years’ senior pictures. This was due to low membership.

*** Where can I get this yearbook? ***
You can pick it up on Tuesday and Thursday June 4th & 6th from 12:30pm to 5pm from the Editor-in-Chief of the Observer, who has volunteered to stay in the Observer/Encore officer to hand out yearbooks. There will be more dates in September when students are on campus to give out books. We are in the Paul Robeson Campus Center on the 3rd floor. The room is shared with The Observer.

*** Can I reserve a book? ***
No. These yearbooks are first come, first serve. One book per person.

***Can you mail it to me, I don’t live near campus. ***
No. We have no active members of Encore and the Editor-in-Chief of the Observer is volunteering her time. We have no funds to send yearbooks out to anyone. We also no longer exist as of this semester. If you would like to have a family member stop by and pick it up during the times listed, please feel free to have them stop by the 3rd floor of the Paul Robeson Campus Center.

Thank you all for your support. We hope one day our legacy can be revived by current students. From all of Encore, good luck to all Rutgers Students and Alumni, we wish you all the very best.
