Hello Chess Fans!
This article is really interesting. Maxime's trapped rooks are special. Whenever one of his own rooks are trapped with barely anywhere to go, you'd assume it would be a useless piece. Yet, perhaps not. Here is a list of games his rook has been trapped, yet it still acts as a gamechanger.
Maxime Vachier-Lagrave: Master Of Trapped Rooks In the end of October 2000, I played a traditional chess tournament: Cap d'Agde. It was a memorable event for me. First, it is not every day you mingle with such legends as Anatoly Karpov. Also, the way we entered the stage was quite remarkable. Right before the start of my semifinal match vs. GM Mi...

Hello Chess Fans!
We talked about AlphaZero a lot, now here's the start of Leela Chess Zero. The difference is that you can play against it if you want. It is at about a National Master's level on a regular PC, and you can play against it for free. http://play.lczero.org/
The description as to what Leela actually is is from 0 to 3:20, the actual game is from 4:15 onwards.
It hasn't beaten Stockfish 8 like AlphaZero can and will on a regular PC, and national masters and above can still beat it's best strength. Leela is like AlphaZero, except it's publicly created. You can play against Leela Chess Zero if you want. Leela's learning is unlimited; the training is similar to AlphaZero's because it trains against itself. The thing that makes Leela different is that people can suggest improvements as well as the fact that it can be trained on multiple people's computers, including yours if it's powerful enough. Here, a National Master plays against Leela.

He grew up in Brooklyn; while once joining the Italian team, he has rejoined the American team to be our first World Champion candidate since Bobby Fischer.
