Rutgers Women in Neuroscience (RUWINS) is hosting a special seminar this Thursday from 7-9 pm (over Zoom and at New Brunswick-Busch Campus) from Rutgers University - School of Criminal Justice professor - Dr Colleen Berryessa on the extra-legal impacts of neuroscience on criminal punishment.
In this talk, Dr. Colleen Berryessa will present some of her recent empirical work on how advances in neuroscience may practically and philosophically influence punishment in the criminal justice system, particularly focusing on how neuroscience and genetics research on behavior could bear on sentencing objectives, processes, and outcomes for defendants during the criminal-legal process.
