Making a ceylon cinnamon tincture. This will be ready on 23 May. I used $4.25 in cinnamon, about 2/3 cup of 100 proof vodka and some masking tape. I should get about 1/2 to 2/3 C of tincture. Ceylon cinnamon seems to support healthy blood sugar levels so I'm going to give this a try. Remember, there are 2 types of cinnamon, ceylon and cassia. The Ceylon version is much lower in coumarin a constituent that acts as a blood thinner and seems to have more anti inflammatory properties than the Cassia. Ceylon has a reputation for supporting healthy blood sugar levels and may play a role in supporting healthy cholesterol levels as well. It has antioxidants, proanthocyanidins and other things that help fight inflammation, has shown use in healthy brain function and may help ease depression.
