Making a ceylon cinnamon tincture. This will be ready on 23 May. I used $4.25 in cinnamon, about 2/3 cup of 100 proof vodka and some masking tape. I should get about 1/2 to 2/3 C of tincture. Ceylon cinnamon seems to support healthy blood sugar levels so I'm going to give this a try. Remember, there are 2 types of cinnamon, ceylon and cassia. The Ceylon version is much lower in coumarin a constituent that acts as a blood thinner and seems to have more anti inflammatory properties than the Cassia. Ceylon has a reputation for supporting healthy blood sugar levels and may play a role in supporting healthy cholesterol levels as well. It has antioxidants, proanthocyanidins and other things that help fight inflammation, has shown use in healthy brain function and may help ease depression. I know that biting into a warm sticky bun rich with cinnamon sparks joy for me! For informational purposes only. If you have health issues, speak with your practitioner of choice.

There is food and medicine in them thar yards, even suburban yards. Want to know what is growing on your land? I can do an urban w**d walk at your place for the Low Low price of 20 bucks a person. We'll see who is poking out of the ground or hanging off a tree and I'll even tell you and show you how to make something to eat or heal with the findings, if you have not sprayed your yard to death. I'll bet I can find at least 4 goodies on the most manicured lawn in Newark(mine) now and through out the growing season. Get to know your plant neighbors! DM me for more info! see below for a delicious egg and purslane salad courtesy of my front yard. I can do this in the Newark DE enviorns
