What Makes Creekside Different?

At Creekside, science isn't something children simply read about.

They feel the wind while learning about weather.
They watch tadpoles become frogs.
They discover mushrooms after the rain.
They build ramps and experiment with motion.
They notice seasonal changes because they've experienced every one of them.

The forest isn't just where we play.
It's part of the classroom.

That's what makes Creekside different.

If you're looking for an early childhood program where learning is hands-on, meaningful, and rooted in nature, I'd love to welcome your family.

Enrollment is now open for the 2026–2027 program year. Visit our website to request more information and begin the journey.

Small Groups. Big Adventures.

One of my favorite things about Creekside is our intentionally small class sizes.

Small groups mean every child is known. Every question is worth asking. Every discovery is shared. There is time to wonder, create, explore, and build genuine friendships.

Children spend their mornings and afternoons hiking woodland trails, observing wildlife, investigating weather, building with natural materials, and discovering how amazing God's creation truly is.

It's a childhood filled with meaningful moments—and I'd love to share it with your family.

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 program year is now underway. Visit our website to request more information or schedule a tour.

Why Families Choose Creekside

Parents often tell me they want more than a preschool.

They want their child to spend more time outside.
To ask questions.
To build confidence.
To come home with dirty boots, rosy cheeks, and exciting stories about what they discovered.

That's exactly what Creekside was created for.

Every day is filled with hiking, free play, hands-on investigations, art, construction, stories, songs, friendships, and meaningful experiences that help children better understand the world around them.

If that sounds like the childhood you hope for your little one, I'd love to meet you.

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 program year is now open. Visit our website to submit an Interest Form and begin the conversation.

Looking for Something Different for Your Child?

Childhood doesn't have to happen under fluorescent lights.

It can happen on woodland trails, with muddy boots, pockets full of acorns, questions about bugs, and afternoons spent building, creating, imagining, and discovering.

At Creekside Nature Unschool, children ages 3–6 learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences in our outdoor Pine Wood Classroom. Together, we build a foundation in life and earth science while nurturing curiosity, confidence, resilience, and a genuine appreciation for the natural world.

If you've been searching for an early childhood program that values wonder, meaningful play, and learning outdoors, I'd love to connect with you.

Visit our website and complete an Interest Form to learn more about our 2026–2027 program. I'll personally reach out to answer your questions, schedule a tour, and help you determine if Creekside is the right fit for your family.

Returning Creekside families—the expansion has happened!

Love this post if you’re excited to come back and see how much our Pine Wood Classroom has grown this summer!

And if you’re new to Creekside, pardon our dust! We’re right in the middle of building, expanding, leveling, designing, and creating—and things are looking a little messy around here right now. But there is so much happening!

Over the next few weeks, our expanded classroom will include:

A new gross motor play area with more room to climb, move, balance, and explore.

The Story Stump, a space for storytelling and imaginative play, surrounded by little woodland nooks, including our dense “sparrow nests” and a pretend river coming soon.

An expanded Newton Patio, currently being leveled and nearly doubling in size! Children will have even more room to experiment with the laws of motion and practice early architecture and engineering through building with natural materials.

New weather and living-things classification boards, designed and handmade specifically for Creekside. These will become a central part of our daily group learning as children observe, record, classify, and begin noticing patterns in the natural world around them.

Larger art and tinkering areas with more space to explore materials, create, build, and learn to use real tools.

The Pine Wood Classroom is growing right alongside Creekside, and I cannot wait to see children learning and playing in these new spaces this year.

Come join us for the last three Summer Learning Play Days and watch the transformation happen over the next three weeks. Just excuse the mess—we’re making something pretty special out here!

Creekside Program Feature: Meet the Frog Group!

Our 2026–2027 Frog Group has just a few spots remaining for children ages 3–4!

The Frog Group meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00–11:30 AM, where every day is an opportunity to explore, imagine, and discover in our outdoor Pine Wood Classroom.

At this age, children learn best by doing. They climb logs, search for insects, splash in puddles, build with natural materials, create woodland masterpieces, and ask hundreds of wonderful questions along the way. Through play and hands-on exploration, they begin developing an understanding of weather, the changing seasons, plants, animals, and the living world around them.

Creekside is a place where children can move, wonder, create, and grow at their own pace while building confidence, friendships, and a lifelong appreciation for nature. Every hike, every discovery, and every muddy pair of boots becomes part of a childhood filled with curiosity and joy.

The Frog Group has only a few openings remaining for the 2026–2027 program year. If you've been considering Creekside, now is a wonderful time to learn more. Visit our website to submit an Interest Form, and I'll be happy to answer your questions, schedule a tour, and help you determine if Creekside is the right fit for your family.
