As the University of Delaware's youngest Class of 2026 graduate, Antonia Vázquez earned her bachelor's degree at just 18 years old this spring. Coincidentally, she and her mother, April Vázquez, celebrated this important milestone together as April completed her Ph.D. in Education from CEHD.

Meet Antonia Vázquez, the youngest graduate in the University of Delaware's Class of 2026.
At just 18 years old, she completed her finance degree with a perfect 4.0 GPA and will continue her studies through UD's 4+1 program this fall.

CEHD alumnus Antwain Flowers, Class of 2005, is helping young people in Wilmington reach their full potential through mentorship, academic support and athletics.
As director of youth development and the Above Xpectations Track & Field team at West End Neighborhood House, Flowers draws on lessons learned as a human services student and student-athlete at University of Delaware to create opportunities for the next generation. While he helped lead his team to an AAU National Championship, he says the program's 100% high school graduation rate is the achievement he's most proud of.

As Pride Month begins, we're reflecting on a meaningful event that brought together researchers, faculty and students committed to supporting LGBTQ+ communities through scholarship and collaboration.
In May, the University of Delaware hosted its inaugural LGBTQ+ Research Symposium, highlighting innovative research on LGBTQ+ development, mental health, community connection, mentorship, education policy and more.
Organized through a collaborative effort across UD, the symposium created space for faculty, staff and students to share knowledge, build connections and explore ways to better support LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

Congratulations to the University of Delaware College of Education & Human Development Class of 2026! 🎓
On May 21, CEHD proudly celebrated 496 degree candidates at our Convocation ceremony in University of Delaware’s Field House. The ceremony honored graduates across the School of Education and Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, including participants in the Center for Disabilities Studies Career and Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program and the inaugural graduates of CEHD’s master of social work program.
As our graduates prepare to make a difference in schools, organizations and communities, we celebrate the passion, dedication and impact they will bring to the world around them. We are proud to welcome them as the newest CEHD Alumni!
