Wilson Middle School

As many of you Maggie aka Miss Maggie Smiles has suffered an injury while playing fetch with a student. Maggie landed awkwardly on her hind leg snapping it and a ligament. The injury occurred around Jan 12 and she has not returned to school. There have been generations of siblings that have provided a great deal of Love for Maggie. Our first prognosis was that Maggie might be retired. But we were able to find a surgeon at COVE that has assured us Maggie can run by summer if we follow the protocol. Yes this will be pricey, since Mrs Bobo posted on Parent square my phone has exploded with concern and offers. I never want to accept and handouts but the veterinary service does setup a program through waggle. Org that goes directly to them and I do not ever see. I am very thankful for all the concern and the plan is to have Maggie back around the time spring break is over. Thanks so much for a great community.

Tomorrow Friday August 30th will be a Spirit wear Friday! Students will be permitted to wear jeans that have no rips, tears, or holes with Newark tops. Students will NOT be permitted to wear sweatpants, leggings or hooded sweatshirts. If your student does not have any spirit wear, they may wear a plain white, black, gray or maroon t-shirt or their polo with jeans.

Attention all 7th and 8th graders interested in playing volleyball for Wilson!! Open gym and tryout information is here:

Thursday July 11th, Thursday July 18th, and Thursday July 25th from 9:30am-11:00 for both grades. (7th and 8th) at Wilson

Tryouts are going to be Thursday August 1st, 7th grade 9:30-11:00; and 8th grade will be 12:00-1:30 at Wilson.

Callie Rucker has been providing meals, with donations, to Wilson staff for more than 15 years for Teacher Appreciation Week. Callie's granddaughter is an NHS graduate who previously attended Wilson, and she wants to show her support and appreciation for all school staff members.

The meals are possible with donations from Texas Roadhouse, City BBQ, Walmart, Giant Eagle, Roosters, Buffalo Wild Wings, Olive Garden, Christy's Pizza, McDonalds, Shade on 30th Street and more. Thank you to all for supporting our staff members!

Just a reminder to parents and families that spring picture day is tomorrow! If you are wanting your student to get their picture taken for spring, please remember to send them with the picture form to school tomorrow!

Tomorrow is our Valentines Day dance for our on island students! Here are just a few things to remember:

❤️ students can dress down for $1 tomorrow but must remember to follow the dress down guidelines.

❤️the dance costs $1 dollar to get in, so if you dress down and go to the dance you will need $2 total. You are allowed to dress up for the dance but you MUST follow the dress down requirements.

❤️the NJHS students will be selling snacks during the dance so if you want to buy snacks you will need some extra cash, but it is optional!
