Attention Bulldog Family,🖤💛

I pray that all is well during this 2025 holiday season.🙏🏾

Unfortunately, I am sharing some sad news on behalf of the Brown Family.💙

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of one of our beloved Bulldog Brothers, Carl “CB” Brown, and my classmate from the MXS Class of 1983.🎓

Please keep the Brown family and their friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Carl and his siblings were also Bulldogs graduates.

Carl was on the football team 🏈 , tennis team 🎾 , and the basketball team 🏀.

Carl was not alone in his passion for sports and activities at Shabazz, so were his brothers: Reggie “The Truck” Brown (class of 1978), Treasy Brown (class of 1980), and Terrie Brown (class of 1984).

Carl was also a member of his lifelong fraternity, Kappa Phi Sigma, known for its values of brotherhood, shared experiences, and commitment to high moral standards that extended into adulthood.🤎

The Brown family will be holding a “Celebration of Life” Memorial service for Carl tomorrow, Saturday, December 13th, 2025, at 1:30 pm at The Little Friendship Baptist Church, 571 S 10th St, Newark, NJ 07103 ⛪️

The Pastor is: Pastor Tyrone Singletary who is also a Bulldog graduate from the class of 1987.
All are welcome to attend. 🙏🏾

The Malcolm X Shabazz HS 🎓Engineering students are hosting a fundraiser selling Bulldog blankets to help them offset their expenses. Their goal is to explore the East Asian country of Japan during the Spring Break of 2026. 🏯

Sending a special thanks to the MXS Class of 1985 for sharing this information with everyone during their 40th-year class reunion weekend, they visited Shabazz where it was shared with them that the Engineering Department needed help with their fundraiser.

If you are able to help support this goal and purchase a blanket with “OUR” favorite mascot, that would be great!✅

The blankets’ measurements are: 50 X 60 and there are now (3) different designs.
You have a choice in the material and color!! All for as little as $45!
