Central Ohio Astronomical Society

COAS is a local astromony club that is located in Central Ohio. COAS is open to all with like interests.

We welcome anyone who has even the slightest interest in the science of Astronomy. COAS is a Non-profit Astronomy based organization that focuses on youth and adult education.

For the first time, a team of astronomers at Pan-STARRS on Haleakala, Maui, and the W. M. Keck Observatory () on Maunakea have observed in real-time a red supergiant star reach the end of its life. They watched as the star convulsed in its death throes before finally exploding as a supernova.

Good evening friends! With Spring (hopefully) being in the not too distant future, we are planning a season kickoff meeting where any interested people can meet the members and see what COAS is all about. The meeting will take place in the Newark/Heath area and would occur on a weekend with a time and location to be determined. I would like to see who all would be interested in attending.
