The 2026 Farm Bill passed the House and moves to the Senate.

The act titled: The "Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026."
This bill (commonly known as the farm bill) reauthorizes through FY2031 and modifies Department of Agriculture programs that address:

commodity support,
conservation,
trade and international food aid,
nutrition assistance,
farm credit,
rural development,
research and extension activities,
forestry,
energy,
horticulture,
crop insurance,
livestock and other animals, and
foreign investments in U.S. agricultural land.

All Americans contribute to the farm bill through taxes they pay on goods and services in their state. States then pay taxes to the Federal government. The Federal Government then allocates funding to public infrastructure, the farm bill being a part of that. No matter who you are, if you live in America and spend money in a state, your tax dollars are in this bill every 5 years. Be part of production and securing our food systems. Your local Senators and Congresspersons are representing you. Make sure they do it with your needs in mind. Stay tuned!
