Lots of learning, laughter and smiles in our Extended School Year programs this summer! Many students say they enjoy summer ESY because it provides consistency, allows them to stay connected with friends, and gives them the ability to stay on top of their academics throughout the summer months. Our August Staff Spotlight shines a light on the behind-the-scenes work of Randy Gavette, Building Maintenance Assistant at FLTCC!

Randy has spent the last 40 years at Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center building and maintaining a multitude of things, and while his role at FLTCC encompasses many jobs, he approaches each day with a fond appreciation for the variety of interactions that it provides.

Congratulations to Georgie McKean and Renée Roa, two members of our W-FL BOCES Centralized Communications Team, who presented to a packed room full of communications professionals in New Orleans today at the National School Public Relations Association 2026 National Seminar.

They were able to share insights, strategies and best practices for creating a self-service brand portal during their presentation, "Branding Made Easy: Building an All-In-One Brand Portal Anyone Can Use."
