UD Music Composition Studio, SCI, & New Music Delaware

SCI’s first concert of the year is coming up! Composers and performers will each be given 24 hours to compose and rehearse respectively. Registration for either role is open to everyone, regardless of major Registration ends on November 7th.

Mark your calendars! On October 19th Composition Studio member Alejandro Lobo will be presenting his senior composition recital in Gore Recital Hall at 5:30pm. We hope to see you there!

Members of the UD Composition Studio travelled to Philadelphia last week for the world premiere of two works by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, presented by the Network for New Music! The concert presented works from across Brouwer’s career. Our composers are always looking for to experience live new music, and being so close to Philadelphia provides ample opportunities!

New Music Delaware presents… Duo Interzone ( and Roberto Migoni, percussion), Performing Artists in Residence at !!! Next week they will be arriving from Italy to do this week-long residency, in which they deliver presentations at the .newmusic and Studio Classes, as well as for the newly established Master of Chamber Music Collective. Their concert on Thursday, Oct. 2, titled: “Sardinian Music Towards European Avant-Garde” is sure to blow us all away! We can’t wait to welcome them!
