It’s grad season 🎓. Last Sunday we celebrated our graduating LALSA members and everything they’ve accomplished alongside their loved ones at our Celebración de Raíces event. Each one of our grads worked tirelessly to reach this milestone, overcoming barriers that demanded strength and resilience - fuerza y ganas. We couldn’t be prouder of them and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.

Congratulations to our Co-President, Omar Serrano, and LALSA member, Alejandra Aguirre, for winning FIRST PLACE in the Respondent’s Brief category at the 30th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition!

Their hard work and dedication truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of their incredible achievement!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our General Body Meeting, ‘Solidarity is a Verb’! It was an inspiring and insightful conversation about the role we play as law students in advocating for and supporting immigrant communities. We appreciate everyone who contributed to such a meaningful discussion!

This past Friday, LALSA Co-Presidents, Carla Zurita and Omar Serrano, teamed up for the McLaughlin Trial Advocacy Program’s Mock Trial at the District Court of New Jersey. We love seeing them in action, honing their talents and showcasing their advocacy skills! 🏛️⚖️

Please join the HBA-NJ for its annual Sandwich Drive on November 24th, from 10am-12:30pm at Seton Hall Law School. Help us make sandwiches for food pantries and shelters around the state; all are welcome! Please register using the link in our bio!
