A new opportunity is taking shape for East Orange students.

This summer, 50 students are expected to participate in the inaugural Jaguar University Dual Enrollment Program, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

Essex County College and the East Orange School District officially launched the program on June 4, as we are joined by East Orange mayor Ted Green, East Orange superintendent Dr. Christopher Irving, East orange Board of Education President Andrea McPhatter.

Dr. Keith Kirkland received the Lawrence A. Nespoli Community College Leadership Award at the NJCC Opportunity Summit in Atlantic City, NJ. Also attending the ceremonies was Dr. Leigh Bello Bryan, Jamil Graham, LeDawn Hall, ECC President, Dr. Augustine Boakye and Trustees Chair, Dr. Arnold Lewis

Other ECC President Cabinet members who are attending the Summit are, Dr. Hanin Shabazz, Dr. Keith Kirkland, Dr. Donald Yee and Alfred Bundy.

Starting this summer, East Orange students will have a new opportunity to earn college credit before graduating high school.

Essex County College and the East Orange School District officially launched the Jaguar University Dual Enrollment Program on June 4. The inaugural session is expected to serve 50 students.
