Wow! We were blown away today by the final designs of the five middle school teams who participated in 2022 Design Challenge!!! Shout out to Newark Symphony Hall for partnering for this program, all our judges and volunteers, our sponsors (Unionwear, Edison Properties Newark Foundation, Thorlabs, Shufro Rose, and Reitman Foundation), and, of course, the students/schools (Discovery Charter School, Link Community Charter School, Newark Boys Chorus School, Great Oaks Legacy Charter School, Philip's Education Partners -PEP)! Incredible designs!

-Focus your smartphone’s camera on the QR code on our Math Challenge poster in the store.
-Take the challenge as you move around the store! We’ve got a challenge for 3rd-4th graders and 6th-8th graders, so there’s something for everyone.
-Submit the challenge, and be entered to win gift cards when the challenge concludes at the end of February!
Teachers, parents, and community members: encourage 3rd-8th graders to play while you shop! All the questions in the challenge encourage students to practice various shopping-related math skills, such as assessing unit prices, sale prices, and cost differences between items. It’s real-world, problem-solving through which young people can build their math skills!

It’s official! Today marks the start of the Schools That Can ShopRite Community Math Challenge, part of the Prudential Financial Math Initiative! For the month of February, students in grades 3 to 8 are encouraged to answer math related challenges while at ShopRite of Newark and be entered to win gift cards. Looking forward to all the entries!
