The Graduate School Alumni–Student Salsa Night, held on April 2, 2026, brought together members of the Rutgers community for an evening of connection and culture. For those of you thinking of a career in academia and research, then consider registering for Ohio State University’s virtual BIG10 Academia Career Fair coming up this fall. Academies and Institutions will be recruiting for tenure-track, non-tenure-track, research, teaching, clinical, & adjunct faculty, as well as lecturer, researcher, or postdoctoral trainee staff positions within their colleges and departments. If you have a Handshake account or can request one within your university or career service office, then you will be able to register now! Here are the details:

We are pleased to welcome Chelsea Wong (incoming MA student, American Studies-Public Humanities) to the Rutgers University—Newark family!

Chelsea is a recent awardee of the Fulbright New Zealand Graduate Awards, and her research will focus on Asian diaspora experiences in the arts.
