What an unforgettable day at the Rutgers Newark Alumni Mentors’ Luncheon! ❤️🖤

This event reminded us why community matters. It’s more than networking — it’s about shared experiences, storytelling, and the kind of mentorship that changes lives. Alumni, students, and emerging professionals came together to learn from one another, build new connections, and celebrate what it means to be part of the Rutgers Newark legacy.

We started the day with two powerful breakout sessions — “The Flexipreneur Formula: Designing Work That Works for You” and “Staying Well While Doing Good: Sustaining Wellness in a Purpose-Driven Career.” Each one inspired reflection on how we can build careers that align with our values and sustain our well-being.

Then our panel took the conversation even deeper. A huge thank you to Brittany S. Hale, Esq., Warren Thompson, MSW, Dr. Danesha Chisholm, DBA, and Dr. Enmanuel Mercedes for your wisdom, honesty, and heart. You reminded us what leadership looks like when it’s grounded in purpose and community.

**Please note that this is the Annual Meeting of the Association, which includes election of the 2025-2026 slate of officers. The current RNAA board is making plans for the June 2025 election. Those who are elected will begin serving July 1, 2025.**

All NCAS/SASN and RU-Newark Graduate School alumni are eligible to submit nominations. Nominations must be received no later than 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 13, 2025, to be valid.

To nominate alumni, including yourself, to serve on the new RNAA Board, kindly submit a nomination via email to the RNAA at [email protected]. E-mail nominations must include:

- Name of nominee
- Year of graduation
- Nominee e-mail
- Position on the Board interested in (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Member-at-large)

The election process will follow RNAA by-laws. No person may run for more than one position. If a person is nominated for more than one position, they must indicate their preference. For consideration during the 2025 nomination period, nominations for the new RNAA board must be submitted by June 13, 2025. We will also take nominations for election of officers from the floor at the Meeting.
