Generously donated by Mark Fiss and Marissa Schnelle (parents of Megan, Josie ‘23, and Ryan ‘26), this expanded footbridge allows our community members, as well as utility vehicles, to travel safely and effectively over the Tributary to the track, baseball, and soccer fields. We are grateful to Mark and Marissa for this meaningful contribution to the Foundation for the Future Campaign and extend our sincere thanks.

There was an impressive turnout at the elections, with over 15 students campaigning for five leadership positions. We are proud of each candidate for their commitment to serving the Indy community and for delivering such thoughtful, well-prepared speeches.

While our students warm up for a day of fun during today's Field Day, the long-standing rivalry between the ❤️ Red Team and the 💙 Blue Team is heating up!

In just a few short days, these 8th graders will cross the stage and officially become Independence alumni before heading off to a variety of high schools in the fall. Those schools are lucky to have them, and we can’t wait to see all they accomplish in the years ahead. Soak it in, Class of 2026!

Squeezing in a few more field trips before the end of the school year!

Last week, our 3rd graders visited the in PA, while our 5th graders traveled to in NJ. Both trips were filled with interactive exhibits, hands-on learning, and plenty of great photo-ops!
