Our gentle warrior shined a public spotlight on the world’s worst moral disasters and conditions, frequently in the face of danger. We are asking for your support of the Donald M. Payne, Sr. Global Foundation. The Payne Foundation is continuing the legacy of Congressman Payne, Sr. who was an educator and human rights advocate, prior to his election to the United States House of Representatives in 1988.
One of the primary goals of our Foundation is to help underwrite costs for inner-city students seeking to obtain a college education. We are presently providing support for thirty-five Payne Scholars who attend the Donald M. Payne, Sr. School of Technology in Newark. These students are also taking college-level civic classes, including a course in international relations. This course parallels what students in the Seton Hall School of Diplomacy are studying. Our scholars earn six college credits as a result of their participation in the University’s Project Acceleration Program. The Payne Foundation underwrites the reduced costs for our participating Payne Scholars. We believe the investment in our students will reap dividends. We ask you to join us in this worthwhile endeavor.
