Celebrating our Principal, Hannah M. Kennedy! Today, we honor her leadership and dedication to Link's mission. Mrs. Kennedy joined our school community in 2014 as a history teacher and now serves as principal, guiding a team of teachers and staff in service to our scholars and families. Mrs. Kennedy, who has supported Link's growth to a full K-8 school, is committed to student academic and personal growth, striving for strong results each year. We are grateful for the great care Mrs. Kennedy shows our students and staff every day.

Springfest! A wonderful success at Link Community Charter School today! Our K–4 scholars enjoyed a morning of hands-on learning with Ms. Lovely and the FoodCorps New Jersey team in our outdoor garden classroom, rotating through fun and engaging stations. From taste tests to learning about pollinators to visiting Chef Nick at the hydration station, students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout. We are grateful for the beautiful spring weather and the opportunity to bring learning outdoors in such a joyful and meaningful way.

Link scholars enjoyed “Tim Tam Finds Her Way,” a delightful puppet musical performed by Mr. Peck’s third quarter elective class. Using large puppets, the performers captivated the audience with a heartwarming story and engaging songs. The play follows Tim Tam, a bird who feels unsure of her own worth and sets out on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, she meets a variety of animals who help her see that everyone is special in their own unique way - including her. Bravo to our puppeteers and Mr. Peck for a wonderful performance!

Our scholars from Link Community Charter School had an inspiring day at the Elementary & Middle School Leadership Conference at Kean University! Ten Link students, grades 4–8, engaged in meaningful conversations, built their leadership skills, and connected with peers from across New Jersey. A standout moment was hearing from keynote speaker Zach Gowen, whose powerful story reminded our scholars to persevere and believe in their potential. Experiences like this help shape confident leaders, critical thinkers, and future changemakers. We’re so proud of how our scholars represented our community - curious, resilient, and ready to lead!

Even the snow days couldn’t keep our reading buddies apart! Recently, 2nd grade Team Huerta visited their kindergarten friends in Team Veritas to proudly presented their “Books of Awesome,” created during a unit on opinion writing. Students learned how to choose a topic and support their opinions with clear reasons. Some awesome topics included why summer is the best season, favorite dinners, and the awesome sport of soccer. Each published book included thoughtful explanations about why students chose their topics. Thank you to our 2nd grade writers for sharing your creativity and enthusiasm with your kindergarten buddies!

Big cheers as Mr. J (Dave Joisil) visited our K–1 scholars! After seeing him in class videos, they were thrilled to meet him in person. He read Mr. J and the Tower That Fell, bringing the story to life with music and movement. Our young learners left inspired by Mr. J’s book about building resilience, working through emotions, and learning to keep going when things don’t go as planned. Thank you, Mr. J!
