Last week, a few of our lab members attended the Society for Research in Child Development Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota! Meli Ayala, a PhD student in the Communication Sciences & Disorders Department, and Dr. Giovanna Morini, director of our lab, presented a poster on their research with bilingual toddlers - “The role of visual cues on word recognition in noise in monolingual and bilingual toddlers.”
Ekaterina Novikova, a PhD student in Human Development and Family Sciences affiliated with our lab, organized a symposium titled “Media Exposure and Language Outcomes in Early Childhood,” bringing together insights from several researchers highlighting different aspects of child language in relation to media exposure. She presented her work - “Examining the Link between Media Exposure and Toddlers’ Language Environment.”
We are so proud of our members who presented and also so grateful for the opportunity to share our findings with other researchers! 😊
