Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. we are looking to add two volunteers to our team see below for details.

The first volunteer opportunity is for a self-starter with great communication skills, organized, and can complete task with limited or no supervision. This individual must have access to the internet and have a genuine love for children. This person will have one task that is to oversea, organize and plan our day and/or overnight trips.

The second volunteer opportunity the individual must have the same qualifications as above. This individual will organize, plan and oversee our college tours and make themselves available to travel with our high school mentees.

Family Questionnaire: Please Complete by Friday, July 24 to Confirm Your Program Choice

If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete the survey found here: www.kippnj.org/backtoschool to enroll your child in either the hybrid model or the 100 percent remote model - you do need to fill out one separate survey per child by Friday, 7/24.



How can I learn more about KIPP Newark’s fall plans, ask questions, and share input?

Please RSVP here to join our Family Town Hall on Thursday, 7/30 from 6-7 p.m. and submit any questions you have that you’d like us to address! We cannot promise that we will have answers to all questions, as our plan will continue to evolve depending on guidance from the state and the current health situation, but we will do our best to communicate transparently and keep you updated as we learn new information. We will have a doctor, Dr. Rahaman, join us to answer your medical questions as well.



What resources exist for self-care and social and emotional wellbeing for myself and my children?

With the heaviness that surrounds us and as we navigate our new realities, it is now more important than ever to take care of ourselves – both physically and mentally. The tools for self-care are endless and we can choose to practice those that work the best for us. We have created a site called The Wellness Space which houses many different self-care resources for everyone (adults and children). The Wellness Space is accessible 24/7 and includes videos and resources for guided meditation, games & puzzles, coloring, yoga, and journaling to name a few. Do find 5 minutes every day to visit the Wellness Space and take care of you!



Summer Meals For the Week Available for Pick-Up Mondays and Wednesdays

KIPP Newark will continue to distribute meals to all families each Monday & Wednesday from July 1-August 31 at KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy (129 Littleton Avenue). Breakfast, lunch, and grocery bags will be available. Pick up will be available between 10:30am-1:30pm each Monday and Wednesday and multiple meals will be distributed to all students. School Start Dates

As a reminder, in our current plan, students in all grades K-12 will begin school virtually on Thursday, August 20 - Monday, August 31. Grades K, 5, and 9 students who opt into the hybrid model would return in person on 9/8, and all grades who opt into the hybrid model return on 9/10 (on an AA/BB/C schedule). Students who are continuing with 100% remote learning would continue their remote program the week of 9/8 and beyond.





Don’t Forget to Complete Your Child’s Registration Paperwork for the 20-21 School Year!

Normally, we hold Registration Days for families to turn in paperwork. This year, due to COVID-19 safety precautions, our registration is 100% online. As a reminder, it is key that all new and returning KIPP Newark students are fully registered for the 2020-2021 school year. The link to complete online registration can be found at kippnj.org/register. Registration takes 20 minutes and can be completed entirely online. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing the process for residency verification and opening next year’s school lunch application. We will continue to update you in these newsletters, on social media, and all information will be posted at www.kippnj.org/register.
