💡What if getting help on campus felt less like asking for help and more like walking into a place designed for students?

This article highlights Temple University’s new Essential Needs Hub, bringing multiple student supports together under one roof.

It’s a model we’ve seen make a real difference through Triple C’s Student Resource Centers, a “one-stop shop” where students can connect with resources without having to navigate multiple offices or figure out where to start.

Making support visible, accessible and part of the everyday campus experience can help reduce stigma and make asking for help feel normal.

Temple University’s new hub centralizes essential needs resources to reduce the navigation burden and stigma students can face seeking help.

The conversation will explore memorialization, the lasting human impact of 9/11, and how remembrance can inform service and civic responsibility today.

Join us this week for the 9/11 Memory & Service: 25 Years Later, a special webinar featuring Marita Sturken, PhD, of New York University and Lynn Hallarman, MD, independent health-science journalist and palliative care physician.

Together, they will explore the role of memorials in shaping our understanding of 9/11, the stories of responders, and the health consequences that continue decades after the attacks.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, this conversation invites us to reflect on memory, service, and our civic responsibility to carry these stories forward.

Our community-wide commemoration with the Center for Appalachian Innovation on Friday, September 11, 2026 will feature memorial yard signs 🎗️ honoring regional individuals lost during or as a result of 9/11, along with 🇺🇸 American flags displayed across campus in remembrance.

Veterans, students, civic leaders, educators, and community members are invited to gather to reflection, show gratitude, and serve.

Triple C is excited to welcome Cael McCutcheon and Shelby Metzger, our newest Communities Thriving AmeriCorps VISTA members serving at Marietta College!

Cael is connecting campus resources with local nonprofits and community partners to expand engagement and volunteer opportunities. A recent Marietta College graduate, Cael brings leadership experience from his time as a student-athlete, resident assistant, and onboarding leader.

Shelby is serving as the Appalachian Community Engagement VISTA with the Center for Appalachian Innovation, strengthening communication and supporting community engagement efforts. A Marietta College graduate, Shelby is excited to continue her connection to campus and learn more about Appalachian Ohio.

We’re thrilled to welcome Cael and Shelby to the Triple C team!

Earlier this summer, Triple C’s Stephanie Dodd and Noah Chartier joined the College Student Basic Needs – Great Lakes Community of Practice (CSBN-GL) in Columbus to learn how states across the region are addressing student basic needs. 🤝

As Triple C launches its Student Basic Needs Task Force, we’re excited to bring these insights back to continue working with campus partners to help students thrive.
