Blue Hens are shaping America’s clean energy future with the help of U.S. Senator Tom Carper. In partnership with Senator Carper, the Delaware Environmental Institute has launched the Carper Collaborative on Climate and Jobs, driving environmental progress through research and practical solutions that provide ample opportunity for America’s workforce.
Leaders across environmental, workforce, policy, and research sectors, along with Delaware’s Congressional delegation, gathered on April 20 for the Collaborative’s inaugural policy conference, Megawatts and Middle-Class Jobs.

Salted Earth will air on Maryland Public Television tonight, Wednesday, April 22nd, at 7:30 PM. 🌏
This 20-minute documentary was produced with support from Holly Michael and Jeanette Miller of the Delaware Environmental Institute at University of Delaware and Jon Cox, associate professor of UD Art and Design.
Salted Earth plunges us into the heart of an invisible and creeping crisis that's transforming the Mid-Atlantic – the inexorable rise of sea levels. We hear from environmental experts as well as residents who live in these affected areas. The threat is not just the swelling sea, but the encroaching salt that kills forests and affects farmable land.
The documentary is available to view on the Maryland Public Television website for those unable to watch it live.

I’m excited to be working with the Delaware Environmental Institute at UD to launch the Carper Collaborative on Climate & Jobs - a new effort to bring together researchers, industry, and policymakers to tackle some of the toughest challenges in energy, workforce, and environmental policy.
On April 20, we’re kicking things off with our first policy conference: Megawatts & Middle-Class Jobs: Powering What’s Next.
As electricity demand rises, the question is whether we can meet this challenge while strengthening our workforce and continuing to make environmental progress.
We’re especially looking forward to welcoming former Governors Terry McAuliffe and Larry Hogan to be a part of the conversation.
I hope you’ll join us.
