THS 2026 White Coat Recipients.

“MOM: My Optimism Matters” was a Mother’s Day-inspired self-care and empowerment workshop created to encourage, uplift, and support mothers and caregivers through meaningful conversation, wellness
practices, community connection, and hands-on engagement. Our school social worker Ms. Julie, focused on strategies to improve well-being and empower mothers to navigate life’s journey with resilience and optimism. “Happy Plants”, was facilitated by our Parent Liaison Ms. Ballester with students from the Engineering Program using LEGO plant-building sets as a tool to represent growth mindset, social-emotional development, perseverance, and the importance of nurturing strong emotional roots in children. Just as plants require care and nurturing to flourish, children thrive when their emotional and social development is intentionally cultivated. Lastly, our Community Partners Focus, The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) and The Rock Community Center of Newark (TRCCON) were present to provide information about programs, services, and resources available to support families within the community. We are truly grateful for The New Jersey Children’s Foundation for sponsoring this event - everyone enjoyed the delicious catering from Panera Bread! 💝
