Today, the Arts High School family mourns the loss of one of our own, Ms. Linda Sawyer. Linda Faye Sawyer
To many, she was the familiar face in our cafeteria. But to those who knew her, she was so much more. She was the heart of our school—the mother, the grandmother, the gentle soul who made Arts High feel like home. Her kindness was never limited to serving meals; she nourished hearts with warm smiles, encouraging words, and genuine care for every student, staff member, and visitor who walked through our doors.
As the person behind this social media page, I was blessed to experience her kindness personally. Whether she was making sure I had something to eat, asking how I was doing, or simply offering one of her warm smiles, Ms. Sawyer had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Those small acts of compassion became lasting memories that I will always cherish.
We grieve alongside her family and friends, sending our deepest condolences to them during this difficult time. Her legacy is not just in the meals she served, but in the countless lives she touched. She poured love into generations of Arts High students, and her presence brought comfort, joy, and light to our halls every day.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are profoundly grateful that Ms. Linda Sawyer chose Arts High as her home. Her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched, and her memory will forever be a part of our family.
Rest peacefully, Ms. Sawyer. You were deeply loved, and you will be profoundly missed.
