Our Ballet Program is the heart of everything we do. ✨

COYB dancers grow through consistent, year-round classes that focus on technique, while rehearsals remain separate to ensure training is never rushed. At every level, we emphasize strength, alignment, and artistry, building dancers who are mindful, confident, ambitious, and collaborative — team players who dance with both grace and power.

If you've been looking for a studio that will truly challenge and grow your dancer, we'd love for them to try a class, on us. 💛

Being accepted into a summer intensive is a meaningful milestone. These programs are selective and typically require auditions where dancers are evaluated on technique, musicality, work ethic, and potential. Acceptance reflects not only current skill, but a dancer’s readiness for focused, professional-level training.

We want to congratulate our dancers who will be attending the following highly respected summer intensive programs across the country, as well as many additional acceptances. Well done! ✨

Behind every dancer is someone helping make it all possible.

A chauffeur. A chaperone. A seamstress. A stage crew member. A choreographer. A teacher. A hairstylist. A quick-change helper. A snack packer. A late-night costume repairer. The one searching for missing hairpins at 7 AM, staying through rehearsals, helping with strike, sitting in dressing rooms, steaming costumes, driving hours for pointe shoes, and crying in the back row during performances.

But beyond the productions, there’s the everyday support that matters even more.

The encouragement after a hard class. The patience through long evenings. The reminders to keep going. The listening, comforting, celebrating, and steady presence that helps dancers grow not only on stage, but off of it too.

So much of what allows these dancers to thrive is built quietly behind the scenes.

To the moms and mother figures who pour endless time, energy, encouragement, and love into both these dancers and this community: thank you for all you do, both seen and unseen. Today, we celebrate you!

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we're shining a light on the incredible instructors who make COYB what it is.

They show up every day with patience, expertise, and a genuine love for this art form. They don't just teach technique. They build confidence, shape character, and leave an impression that lasts long after a dancer leaves the studio.

Thank you to our instructors for everything you pour into this community. We are so grateful for you!

And that’s a wrap! 🌸

What a beautiful performance weekend! Dance Alive! 2026 showcased the elegance of classical ballet alongside flowing contemporary choreography, all brought to life with costumes that echoed the brilliant colors of spring. Many thanks are in order as we celebrate all that took place:

To our dancers, thank you for your hard work, commitment, and the beauty you bring to each performance. We are so proud of you!

Thank you to The Woodward Opera House for hosting us so well as our "home away from home."

Thank you to our sponsors, Park National Bank, Newark Ohio, Licking County Foundation, and Wigal Orthodontics, who help make performances like these possible and accessible to our community.

Thank you to all of the parents and volunteers, both in front of and behind the scenes, who filled the roles of costumers, stage crew, rehearsal assistants, chaperones, and beyond. Without you, productions like this simply would not be possible.

And finally, thank you to all who came, who enjoyed, supported the arts, and showed up for these young artists. 💛

We invite you to stay connected through classes and future performances. COYB is for all area dancers, and there is a place for you here! Check out all offerings and opportunities at coyb.org.
