BRICK Gateway Academy Free K-12 Public Charter School | Newark, NJ People's Preparatory Charter School welcomed our first ninth grade class in August 2011.

Located in the heart of Newark, we are a growing community of learners, teachers and staff all working to support People's Prep's core values of Intellect, Empathy and Action. People's Prep currently serves grades 9-12. Students arrive at People's Prep from a wide range of educational backgrounds. In order to level the playing field and allow our students to succeed at a level with those who've ha

d more educational opportunities, People's Prep provides a rigorous curriculum and extended school-day and school-year calendar. Simply put, we've got to give more to get more. All students complete a college-preparatory curriculum, including classes in Physics, Civics, Spanish, Mathematics and English Language Arts. Our students not only develop academic skills, but also nurture a love of learning, through programs like our daily, school-wide Independent Reading sessions.

Congratulations to our AP scholars!

We're proud to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students, with 79% of AP students earning a qualifying score of 3 or higher on their AP exams this year! Together, our scholars earned 60 qualifying AP exam scores across six subjects.
