When I started a tutoring company, I wondered how my connections would shift. From being in a classroom where I would release students each year, I wondered if I would ever feel the same sense of community as I did when I was a classroom teacher.
As a tutor I expected to help students meet their goals, build up their confidence, self talk & send them on their way… and while that does happen, more times than not our students stay for the following year — not because they need us in the same way, but because the connections are so powerful that we are able to continue growing together throughout their school journey.
When I made this jump I never expected to have the privilege of watching my students grow alongside them, for years to come. There is so much beautify in being able to remain in their journey & not have to watch from afar. I am so grateful this community that continues to expand, a community I didn’t realize was possible, that I now can’t imagine my life without.
To all of our families that have departed, we miss you and always wish you well & for our families that return each school year, or pop back in for a summer refresh, your support and partnership means more to me & this little business of mine than I could ever express in an instagram post.
