I’m Johnny Hill, your Perkins PTA treasurer!

Newark is somewhere I love to call home and investing in our youth and community are very important to me. I have two sons, one currently in the district and a 4 month old! Being a Dad is one of the best parts of my life and they are a constant reminder of my goal to help make the future a better place for the next generation. I’m excited for a great year ahead at Perkins, planning fun and engaging events for students and families! We hope to see you there!

Meet Your PTA President 💛

Hi everyone! I’m Samantha, and I’m so excited and honored to be serving as your PTA President!

For those who may not know me yet, I’m a mom of 2 boys and someone who truly believes that our children thrive when we have a strong, supportive community around them. Becoming more involved in our school and stepping into this role is something I’m incredibly excited about—not only because I love being involved with my children’s experiences, but because I want to help create a school community where every family feels welcomed, heard, and included.

As PTA President, my biggest goal is to help bring families, teachers, staff, and our community together. I want the PTA to be a place where everyone feels like they have a voice and where we can work together to create fun, meaningful experiences for our kids while also supporting our amazing school staff.

I’m looking forward to getting to know more of you, hearing your ideas, and making some wonderful memories along the way! Whether you’ve been involved with the PTA for years or this is your first time considering joining us, there is a place for you here. 🤍

Meet Your PTA Secretary

Hi Perkins families! 👋 I’m Lindsey, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as the Secretary of the Perkins PTA!

I’m a mom of three boys and have always loved being involved in our school community. I’m looking forward to working alongside our PTA board, teachers, staff, and families to help make Perkins an even more fun and welcoming place for our kids.

I’m excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to meet more of you! Please don’t hesitate to say hi or reach out—I’m always happy to help! 💙📚✨

Hello everyone, we are excited to announce our meeting dates & would like to invite you to join us for our first meeting 9/14 @ 5:30 pm right at the Perkins library. We will be discussing fall fundraising opportunities, our annual Halloween party and more. We hope to see you there, down below are our future meeting dates, if interested in becoming a member we will be handing out membership forms at some upcoming events and also have them available at the first meeting.

PERKINS PTA YEAR IN REVIEW 🎉

As another school year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the amazing things the Perkins PTA was able to accomplish this year!

This year, the Perkins PTA proudly:

📚 Provided a new book for every student to during Reading Week
🎨 Donated $600 to the Perkins Art Department through our Square 1 Art fundraiser. Thank you Mrs. Dentel for your continued help with this wonderful project!
🍕 Partnered with local business BB's Pizzeria to create a fun reading incentives for our students.
🎃Hosted a Halloween trick or treating event. Canal View, Halco, The Apple Shed, & Burger King donated candy, and treats for this event.
🎄Hosted a movie night & sponsored a Perkins family during the holidays.
🥫Collected food for the Newark food bank.
🎈With the help of Wegmans, we were able to donate & set up 100 balloons for our 100th day celebration.
🥇Awarded a HS Senior with the $500 Perkins PTA Scholarship!
🥞 Hosted breakfast for staff during teacher appreciation week!
💰 Ran multiple fundraisers to raise money to support our school.
🌸 Hosted our first Spring Dance!
🍪Donated snacks & drinks for Art Night, and Mystery Night.
🗓️Ran tables at Open House, KS Carnival, Reading Week Night etc.

And so, so much more!

Every event, fundraiser, and activity was made possible because people stepped up to help. Whether you volunteered, donated supplies, attended an event, or simply supported our efforts, you made a difference. Thank you for believing in our students and helping make Perkins such a special place.

We hope all Perkins school students and families have a wonderful summer ☀️

🍕 Thank You for Supporting Our Little Caesars Fundraiser! 🍕

A huge thank you to all of our families, friends, and community members who supported the Perkins PTA Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fundraiser!

Because of your generosity, we raised over $800 to support our students and school community. These funds will help the PTA continue providing educational resources, student programs, family events, and other enriching opportunities throughout the year.

Perkins PTA and Perkins Reading Team are excited to partner with BB’s Pizzeria for our June Reading Incentive Program! 🍕📚

Students will be bringing home a reading log to track the minutes they read throughout the month of June. Once completed, reading logs should be returned to their teacher by June 23rd. Every student who turns in a completed log with parent signature will receive a certificate for a free small cheese pizza from BB’s Pizzeria!

A huge thank you to Josh Jackson and BB’s Pizzeria for supporting our students and helping encourage a lifelong love of reading. We appreciate your partnership in making reading fun and rewarding!
