💙👏 Celebrating McKean High School! 👏💙
We’re proud to recognize McKean High School for being selected as one of just 15 student groups across North America to participate in the Inclusive Youth Leadership Development Cohort with Special Olympics North America (SONA) — an incredible accomplishment!

As part of the cohort, groups received leadership training and project funding. Holly Schnittger’s leadership group — Annabella Francisco, Ava Kelly, and Kenzie Vied — were awarded $2,000 to lead a service project making a real difference in their community.

For their project, the group brought together about 80 students from McKean High School and North Star Elementary, who made over 100 sandwiches and kindness cards donated to Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, DE. The impact will continue, as they plan to make and donate sandwiches every few weeks through the end of the school year.

This is what youth leadership, service, and inclusion look like in action. Way to go, McKean! 💙🫶
